Spanish architecture firm Fran Silvestre Arquitectos has completed Villa 18, a contemporary single-family residence located in the prestigious La Moraleja area of Alcobendas, Spain. The 1,015-square-meter house was completed in 2024 and features stunning diagonal views toward a lake that belongs to the La Moraleja golf course in Madrid.
The architectural design takes full advantage of the generous site dimensions by developing the home primarily on a single floor level. This horizontal approach maximizes the connection between interior and exterior spaces while creating seamless integration with the surrounding landscape. The strategic placement of the structure optimizes the scenic golf course and lake views that define the property's unique character.
The residence is organized into two distinct volumes of different heights that are deliberately shifted in relation to each other. This innovative design creates a sheltered terrace that directly faces the landscape and is oriented toward the southeast to capture optimal natural light throughout the day. The main structural body reaches a height of almost one and a half floors, providing dramatic interior spaces while maintaining the overall horizontal emphasis.
A third separate structure houses the private nighttime areas of the home, including bedrooms and associated spaces. This wing is strategically positioned to provide its own more intimate outdoor space, ensuring privacy and tranquility for the family's personal retreat areas. The separation of public and private zones reflects contemporary residential design principles that prioritize both social interaction and personal privacy.
The project was led by architect Fran Silvestre with a comprehensive team including María Masià, Estefanía Soriano, and Carlos Lucas. Interior design was handled by Alfaro Hofmann, while structural engineering was provided by Estructuras Singulares. The development was overseen by 37 threeseven, with construction completed by Project Work. Photography of the completed residence was captured by Fernando Guerra of FGSG, showcasing the building's clean lines and integration with its natural setting.
