Source Music, the agency representing Le Sserafim, has announced its decision to pursue legal action against online malicious posts and comments targeting the girl group. The agency, a subsidiary of HYBE, stated on Friday that it has collected evidence with the help of fans and is employing experts from domestic and international law firms to address the issue.
The legal actions taken by Source Music focus on offenses such as insult, defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act, and the use of communication media for sexual harassment under the Sexual Violence Punishment Act. The agency has filed complaints with investigative authorities and continues to gather evidence.
The agency has emphasized that investigations into individuals who posted malicious content have been ongoing for an extended period. Several defendants have been criminally convicted, receiving fines of up to 2 million won ($1,460) for their offenses.
Source Music remains committed to eradicating illegal activities against its artists and will continue to take firm action without leniency. The agency announced plans to intensify legal measures against malicious posts in late April, with a focus on protecting the rights and interests of their artists.
As of 5:19 p.m. on Friday, the comment sections of Le Sserafim's official Instagram and YouTube videos have been disabled. Additionally, the comment sections on individual members' Instagram accounts are also disabled.
