Bonhams has announced Chabi Nouri as its new CEO, starting in October. Nouri will be based at the auction house’s headquarters in London. “I am delighted to be joining Bonhams, which has a long heritage, rich history, and strong values as an auction house, as well as a reputation as an innovator,” Nouri said in a press statement. “Its focus on digital transformation, global reach, and passion, nurtured by its extraordinary talents, makes it an exceptionally exciting and dynamic company. I look forward to building on these strong foundations and focusing on Bonhams’ core DNA.”
Before joining Bonhams, Nouri served as the CEO of the watch and jewelry company Piaget for seven years and was a private equity partner at the Mirabaud Group, a Swiss private bank. She also spent ten years at Cartier in various roles, including managing its jewelry, watches, and retail merchandising. Nouri holds a master’s degree in economics from Fribourg University in Switzerland.
“Having served as a CEO of a leading luxury company, and in her most recent role as a co-manager of a private equity fund, Chabi has proven abilities as a strong brand-builder and for digital innovation,” said Bonhams Executive Chairman Hans-Kristian Hoejsgaard. “Her background in luxury also brings valuable experience and insight to one of the most important categories at Bonhams.”
Founded in 1793, Bonhams is owned by the UK-based private equity company Epiris. The auction house has 14 salerooms worldwide and expanded its reach in 2022 by acquiring four auction houses: Bukowskis in Stockholm, Bruun Rasmussen in Copenhagen, Skinner in Boston, and Cornette de Saint Cyr in Paris.
