Daniel Walsh, an 18-year-old artist from Claremorris, County Mayo, Ireland, has recently returned from Japan after representing his country at the prestigious 26th International High School Arts Festival in Tokyo. His prize-winning artwork from this year's 71st Texaco Children's Art Competition was selected for display at this major international showcase of young artistic talent.

Traveling at the invitation of Japan's International Foundation for Arts and Culture, Walsh attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition, which was held at one of Japan's most prestigious venues, the National Art Center in Tokyo. Walsh's artwork, titled "Colm," was exhibited alongside the top 500 artworks carefully selected from approximately 15,000 submissions by students from around the world.
