NewJeans has been recognized as the only K-pop artist on Billboard's 21 Under 21 list for 2024. Released on May 31 (US time), the list highlights the most influential young artists under the age of 21 in the music industry, evaluated based on album and song sales, streaming numbers, and overall influence within the industry.
Billboard acknowledged NewJeans' significant impact since their debut two years ago, noting their distinct presence in K-pop. In the previous year, the group's second EP, "Get Up," reached the top of the Billboard 200 main albums chart, marking a notable achievement just one year after their debut.
Five of NewJeans' songs, including "Ditto" and "Super Shy," have appeared on the Hot 100 main singles chart. In March, the group received the Group of the Year award at the 2024 Billboard Women in Music Awards.
The group's latest double single, "How Sweet," has shown strong performance on both domestic and international charts, with its main track reaching No. 85 on Spotify's Weekly Top Songs Global chart and securing high positions on South Korea's major music charts.
