Construction progress on Casoni, a 70-story residential skyscraper in Manhattan's Garment District, is rapidly advancing as exterior work continues at the intersection of Sixth Avenue and West 37th Street. The 785-foot-tall tower, designed by C3D Architecture and developed by Sioni Group in partnership with AB Sons, will encompass 384,118 square feet and house 311 rental and condominium units averaging 991 square feet each. The building's design also includes two basement levels below ground.
Significant progress has been made on the building's exterior since the last update in early August when the reinforced concrete superstructure had just reached its peak. Bird-friendly floor-to-ceiling windows and light gray facade panels have continued to be installed throughout the tower's exterior. The protective yellow cocoon that previously covered the building's pinnacle has been completely removed, and glass railings are now being installed on the balconies located on the southeast corner of the structure.
The tower crane that has been instrumental in the construction process has begun its disassembly phase and has been systematically lowered toward street level over the past week. Construction crews are also making substantial progress on the cladding installation for both the northern profile and the largely blank western face of the building. These metal panels remain protected by temporary film coverings during the installation process.
Work continues on completing the multistory podium section, with a piling machine currently positioned around the missing section that serves as the base for the outdoor construction hoist. This area represents the final portion of the superstructure that needs to be completed, which will finalize the curved architectural appearance of the podium levels.
The building's finished exterior will feature vertical lighting fixtures discretely integrated into the exterior recesses, creating an elegant nighttime appearance. Interior spaces will showcase custom stonework and millwork throughout the units, along with modern smart home technology features. Residents will have access to more than 25,000 square feet of amenities specifically dedicated to health and wellness activities.
The tower's design includes strategically placed balconies and setback terraces that will provide residents with spectacular views of both the Lower Manhattan and Midtown skylines. REAL New York is managing the sales and marketing efforts for all residential units in the building. According to on-site construction notices, Casoni's anticipated completion date is scheduled for 2026.
