The Gauguin interpretation center "Gauguin, l'atelier du Pouldu" in Clohars-Carnoët has received a remarkable gift that brings new life to its historical exhibitions. Yvonne Seligmann has donated over 200 precious photographs taken by her grandfather, Otto Seligmann, which now blend seamlessly with the center's existing artworks and displays.

These invaluable photographs provide visitors with an authentic glimpse into the environment where renowned artists such as Paul Gauguin and Paul Sérusier once worked and lived. The collection captures the authentic atmosphere and settings that surrounded these influential painters during their time in Le Pouldu, offering a unique historical perspective that complements the artistic works on display.

The significance of this donation was highlighted during a special presentation where site manager Maud Naour and mayor Jacques Juloux welcomed Yvonne Seligmann to showcase how her grandfather's photographs have been integrated into the interpretation center. The photographs now form an integral part of the exhibition, creating a richer narrative that connects visitors to the historical context of the artists' creative period.

This generous contribution from Yvonne Seligmann enhances the center's mission to preserve and present the artistic heritage of the region. The integration of Otto Seligmann's photography collection with the existing Gauguin works creates a more comprehensive understanding of the artistic community that flourished in this corner of Brittany, providing visitors with both visual artworks and documentary evidence of the era.
