Within six days of its release, Yuqi's debut EP "Yuq1" has sold over 500,000 copies, totaling 550,170 copies in its first week, according to music industry tracker Hanteo Chart. This marks the highest sales for a debut EP by a K-pop female solo artist in its opening week.
All seven tracks from the EP, including the lead single "Freak," have secured positions on Melon's daily Hot 100 chart, as reported by Yuqi's agency, Cube Entertainment. Additionally, "Yuq1" has reached the top of iTunes' top albums chart in six regions, including Russia and Chile, and topped iTunes' top K-pop music album charts in 15 regions, including the United States, England, and Germany.
Yuqi embarked on her solo career with "Yuq1" nearly six years after debuting as a member of (G)I-DLE in 2018. The group is recognized for hits such as "Latata" (2018), "Tomboy" (2022), "Nxde" (2022), and "Queencard" (2023).
Continuing promotional activities for the EP, Yuqi is scheduled to perform on Mnet's music show "M Countdown" on Thursday.
