Jisoo of the globally acclaimed K-pop group Blackpink is following the footsteps of her bandmate Jennie by founding her own agency, named Blissoo, for her solo career.
According to industry sources, Jisoo and her brother are spearheading the establishment of Blissoo, which has recently initiated the recruitment of various personnel, including video editors, producers, designers, and security guards.
The agency's job announcement emphasizes the unique opportunity of working with an artist in a startup environment.
Jisoo, with the backing of her new agency, is set to concentrate on developing her acting career. Her debut in the cinematic realm will be in the film "Omniscient Reader," adapted from a Korean web novel that has amassed 200 million views. The storyline follows Kim Dok-ja, an ordinary man thrust into a world mirroring a novel he has been reading for over a decade, with Jisoo portraying the character Lee Ji-hye, a former student of the male protagonist.
In a parallel move, fellow Blackpink member Jennie announced the establishment of her agency, OA, in December of the previous year, with her mother's involvement. Jennie is set to make appearances on KBS late-night music talk show "The Seasons: Lee Hyo-ri’s Red Carpet" and as a fixed member on tvN’s new variety show "Apartment 404," starting February 15.
Notably, all four Blackpink members recently extended their exclusive contract with YG Entertainment for group projects, excluding individual activities. Rose and Lisa of Blackpink have yet to disclose their plans for future solo endeavors.
Meanwhile, Lisa garnered recognition as the most influential figure among Thai politicians and celebrities in Thailand, based on a survey conducted by Suan Dusit University in Bangkok from December 20-27, 2023.
