Jeongkeun Lee’s solo exhibition Awaken Gills is currently being held at Sungkok Art Museum.
The works in this exhibition utilize photography as a medium, surrounded by unique protective frames that embody the concept of armor.
The artist turned his attention to the fragility of photographic media after experiencing the devastation of losing all his works due to flooding in his studio several years ago.
Subsequently, Lee developed a series of works composed of frames acting as bunkers to protect fragility and the photographs contained within.
Through the exhibition, viewers will experience the interplay of artistic vulnerability and the survival instinct, traversing the boundaries between art and reality.
