A special exhibition, Arachne Eye, which reinterprets the story of Arachne from Greek mythology through modern craft, is currently being held at the Moonshin Museum of Art at Sookmyung Women’s University.
Featuring the works of 25 artists and more than 130 pieces, the exhibition brings Arachne’s perspective and spirit to life through contemporary art.
The exhibition highlights diverse works that reinterpret traditional techniques such as weaving, knitting, crocheting, and embroidery in a modern context.
Focusing on the theme of challenging absolute power in mythology, the artists have woven connections between ancient and modern perspectives throughout the exhibition.
In addition to mythology-inspired works, the exhibition includes numerous experimental pieces that explore the intersection of contemporary art and craft.
