The third stage of the "Most Beautiful View of Paris" photography contest, organized by the Montparnasse Tower Observatory, has reached an exciting milestone with the unveiling of 10 finalist photographs. Following the initial selection of 64 finalists and public voting on Instagram, these exceptional images were revealed during the opening ceremony of an exhibition currently taking place on the 56th floor of Montparnasse Tower.
The contest, organized by the Paris Montparnasse Observatory in partnership with Phototrend and LabKorner, now invites the public to vote for their three favorite photographs from among the 10 finalists. These stunning images, selected from hundreds of submissions, offer unique perspectives on the City of Light, each accompanied by the photographer's personal story behind the capture.
Among the remarkable finalist entries is "Paris in Gentle Fire" by Anis Kabli (@instakanis), who captured a sunset from Butte Bergeyre in spring 2025, explaining: "As Paris ignites with gentle lights, I captured this sunset so the world could admire the timeless beauty of Paris." Another standout is "After the Rain" by Tadji Kretschmer (@inseinelyparis), who described being surprised by rain while walking through Paris: "When the storm dissipated, the golden light returned and the puddle offered me a gift: this ephemeral reflection."
Yoël Taïeb (@yoeltaieb) contributed "Moonrise," showcasing the magical moment when the full moon aligns perfectly with one of Paris's most beautiful monuments. "Pharaonic Elevation" by Maxime Sellin-Forlay (@unfrancaisaparis) presents the Obelisk as "an arrow of stone and light rising toward the sky, like a divine elevation suspended between history and eternity."
The collection also features "Three Colors" by Valentin Yvon (@vy.photographe), capturing a unique moment in August 2021 when the Patrouille de France rehearsed for the 2024 Olympics, performing their iconic burst formation facing Paris - a figure that was ultimately never reproduced in the actual games. Daniel Cohen (@rubendany) submitted "A Matter of Perspective," describing his view of Parisian magic "from the Louvre Pyramid behind me to the Arc de Triomphe, sublimated by the lightness and poetry of Mathieu Lehanneur's cauldron."
"Eternal Paris" by Pierre Pineau (@pierrepineau5) carries emotional weight with its dedication "In this night sky, her presence remains. To my mother, who loved this color so much." Vincent-François Drappier (@vincentfdrappier) captured "Parisian Stroll," wandering along Rue de Rivoli in July evening light "like an opportunist, taking advantage of the sunset's play of light."
Rounding out the finalists are "Under the Golden Lantern, 2024" by Sammy Royal (@bysammyroyal), who had the rare opportunity to photograph Paris during golden hour from the lantern atop the Institut de France, and "The Girl with Flowers, 2025" by Logan Louboutin (@imzefyr), capturing "a soft light reflecting on Parisian architecture and a romantic silhouette facing the commanding view over the heights of Paris - the beauty of an unexpected moment that lasted only a few seconds."
All ten photographs are currently on display at the Montparnasse Tower Observatory exhibition. The public voting period remains open until October 9, with winners to be announced on October 10 via the Paris Montparnasse Observatory's Instagram account. Visitors can view the full exhibition and cast their votes for their three favorite images through the official contest platform.
