New Hotel in South Jeolla's Second-Largest City Set to Open in 2026

Hilton has officially entered a management agreement with Urban Bluewings Co., Ltd. for the upcoming DoubleTree by Hilton Yeosu hotel. The hotel, scheduled to open its doors in 2026, will be located in Yeosu, the second-largest city in South Jeolla.

Guy Phillips, Hilton's Senior Vice President of Development for APAC ex Greater China, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, highlighting Yeosu as a popular leisure destination for intra-Asian travel. DoubleTree by Hilton Yeosu is poised to cater to both leisure and business travelers, offering 179 rooms, including standard rooms, suites, and a presidential suite. 

▲ Courtesy of HILTONThe hotel will feature diverse dining options, including an all-day restaurant, a specialty restaurant, and a café and bar lounge. Additionally, the property will provide over 370 square meters of versatile event space for corporate meetings and social gatherings. Wellness-focused amenities include an executive lounge, a fitness center, a spa, a rooftop outdoor pool, and a Korean bathhouse.

2023 marks the 40th anniversary of Hilton's trading presence in Korea. Timothy Soper, Hilton's Area Vice President and Head of Japan, Korea & Micronesia, noted the significance of introducing the DoubleTree by Hilton brand to the Korean market and expressed excitement about extending hospitality to Yeosu.

Urban Bluewings Co., Ltd.'s Chairman, Jun Gu Lee, expressed gratitude to Hilton for the opportunity to collaborate and shape the future of Yeosu. The partnership aims to open the hotel in 2026, coinciding with the Yeosu World Island Exhibition.

Situated near Gwangyang Port, Korea's largest import-export port, and the National Industrial Complex, the hotel offers proximity to popular tourist attractions, including Hallyeohaesang National Park, Geumodo Island, Manseongri Beach, Arte Museum Ocean, and Yeosu Maritime Cable Car.

DoubleTree by Hilton Yeosu is strategically located near transportation hubs, including Yeosu Airport and Yeosu Expo Station. The city is easily accessible from Seoul in three hours by highway or rail and from Gimpo, Gyeonggi, and Jeju by a one-hour flight.
