Drabit Studio, an indie game developer led by CEO Kim Han Bit, has announced that its upcoming top-down shooting action game, Soulers, will release a global demo on Steam on December 27. The game gained significant attention after being selected as the winner of the WASD Indie Game Competition in October, raising anticipation among gamers worldwide.
Soulers follows the story of Makina, a protagonist with the ability to manipulate time, who joins forces with her Soulers allies—characters awakened to the power of souls—to save the world. The game’s signature mechanic, the time distortion ability, allows players to slow time to dodge enemy attacks and unleash powerful counterattacks, delivering an exhilarating combat experience. Players can combine various weapons with unique ally characters to create personalized strategies, adding depth to the gameplay.
The upcoming demo version will offer approximately 40 minutes of gameplay, featuring four stages, challenging boss battles, three weapon types, seven allies, and a trait enhancement system. This sneak peek will enable players to experience the game’s core mechanics firsthand. Drabit Studio plans to use feedback from the demo to refine and polish the final product.
The full release of Soulers is scheduled for the second half of 2025. The completed game will include over 10 hours of story mode content, an endless boss raid, and a roguelike mode, promising a robust gaming experience for players.
Drabit Studio’s decision to integrate diverse mechanics and strategic customization aims to set Soulers apart in the competitive indie game market. The inclusion of a time-manipulation mechanic is expected to provide a fresh take on traditional action games, appealing to both casual and hardcore players.
The demo launch is also an opportunity for the studio to engage with the global gaming community, showcasing Soulers’ innovative gameplay and artistic vision. By gathering valuable feedback, the developers hope to meet the expectations of both fans and critics.
Further details about the game can be found on the Soulers Steam page and official social media channels, where Drabit Studio continues to share updates and behind-the-scenes insights.
