Gyeongbokgung Palace, the primary royal palace of the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910) in central Seoul, will reopen for nighttime tours beginning September 9, as announced by the Korea Heritage Service.
While regular visitors can tour the palace until 6:30 p.m., those holding nighttime tickets will have exclusive access to select areas of the palace from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The nighttime tour includes key historical sites such as Heungryemun Gate, Geunjeongjeon Hall, and Sajeongjeon Hall, where significant royal ceremonies were held during the Joseon era.
Tickets for the nighttime tours will be available for purchase starting at 10 a.m. on September 6, through Interpark Ticket, on a first-come, first-served basis. Each person can purchase up to four tickets. On-site ticket purchases are limited to foreign nationals, with a maximum of two tickets available per person daily. A total of 3,300 tickets are available each day, with 3,000 allocated for online sales and 300 for on-site purchases.
Tickets are priced at 3,000 won per person, but visitors wearing hanbok, children under six, and seniors over 65 can enter free of charge, regardless of nationality.
The nighttime tours will run through October 27, but will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, as well as on September 19 and October 9.
