Hanwha Life Esports (HLE) has officially signed former T1 top laner Choi Woo Je, known as "Zeus," for the 2025 season. This announcement, made on November 20 via the team’s official social media, marks a significant shift in the competitive League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) landscape.
In their statement, Hanwha Life Esports shared their optimism for the upcoming season, stating, “Zeus Choi Woo Je will join Hanwha Life Esports as our top laner. Together with Zeus, we are setting our sights on greater challenges and higher achievements in the 2025 season. We look forward to your continued support and encouragement.”
Zeus, who departed T1 following a breakdown in contract negotiations, expressed his sentiments through his social media. “I’m deeply sorry for the sudden farewell,” he wrote. “T1 has been my home, and leaving was a difficult decision.”
Widely regarded as one of the most talented top laners in the LCK, Zeus has been a cornerstone of T1’s success in recent years. His exceptional mechanics and game sense have earned him domestic titles and international acclaim, making him one of the most sought-after players in his position.
Meanwhile, T1 has filled the vacancy left by Zeus with former Hanwha Life Esports top laner Choi Hyun Joon, also known as "Doran." This swap between two powerhouse organizations adds an extra layer of intrigue to the upcoming LCK season, with fans eagerly awaiting the outcomes of these roster changes.
Zeus’s transfer to Hanwha Life Esports reflects the organization’s ambition to compete at the highest level. His arrival signifies HLE’s commitment to building a championship-caliber roster capable of challenging for both LCK and global titles.
This move also underscores the increasingly dynamic nature of professional League of Legends, where strategic roster changes play a pivotal role in team performance. Zeus’s proven skills and competitive drive make him a critical asset for HLE’s aspirations in 2025.
As the LCK gears up for another thrilling season, the addition of Zeus to Hanwha Life Esports is expected to redefine the team’s potential. The stage is set for fierce competition as teams prepare for a new chapter in professional League of Legends.
