A retrospective exhibition honoring Lee Jongbin, a pivotal figure in modern Korean sculpture, is being held at Keumsan Gallery.
The artist expanded the possibilities of the sculptural medium through an experimental and modern artistic vision grounded in traditional sculptural techniques.
In particular, the artist's masterpiece Fighter for Freedom, displayed at the April 19th National Cemetery, is highly regarded for portraying the conflict between the Syngman Rhee regime and protesting citizens.
His works, which remain as national monuments, integrate historical contexts with Korean society through sculptural interpretation.
Visitors to the exhibition will experience the artist's unique perspective, expressive techniques, and a reflection of Korea’s social journey.
