The National Marine Biodiversity Institute of Korea (MABIK) is hosting the 3rd Lush Art Fair until January 5, 2025. Centered around the theme "The Ocean, A Vital Treasure to Protect," the exhibition features works by 17 neurodivergent artists who drew inspiration from research on climate change and marine pollution.

The art fair highlights the fragility of marine ecosystems threatened by climate crises and plastic waste. The showcased pieces reflect both creative interpretation and environmental advocacy, offering a profound visual narrative on the urgency of ocean conservation.

Choi Wan Hyun, director of MABIK, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, "This exhibition plays a significant role in raising awareness about the devastating impact of climate change and pollution on marine ecosystems and biodiversity. I am proud to present the exceptional works of artists who transcend the boundaries of ability and disability, bringing forward meaningful and high-quality artistry."

The fair not only addresses ecological concerns but also challenges societal prejudices surrounding disability. Organized by Lush Korea, the initiative aligns with its mission of promoting inclusivity through art. The 2022 inaugural fair, themed "Art Knows No Prejudice," and the 2023 follow-up, "Never Truly Gone," which focused on endangered native plants, laid the groundwork for this year's impactful event.

The participating artists have utilized diverse mediums to convey their perspectives on marine life, resilience, and the interconnectedness of humans and nature. These pieces serve as a poignant reminder of the shared responsibility to protect the world’s oceans.

Lush Art Fair continues to expand its influence by combining artistic expression with social advocacy. Through collaboration with neurodivergent artists, the fair not only sheds light on pressing environmental issues but also underscores the importance of inclusion and equity in the arts.
