ALPHA DRIVE ONE Enters Oricon Daily Album Chart at No. 2

K-pop group ALPHA DRIVE ONE, also known as ALD1, has entered the upper ranks of several Japanese music charts with its second EP.
According to Oricon’s Daily Album Ranking dated Aug. 25, “UNBREAKABLE : 少年BEAST” debuted at No. 2 with estimated sales of 18,819 copies.
The title track, “BORN DIRE,” reached No. 1 on Line Music’s “K-POP Top 100” and No. 2 on its real-time “New Song Top 100.”
The EP also placed second on Line Music’s real-time and daily album charts. On Japan’s iTunes charts, “BORN DIRE” ranked first in the K-pop songs category, while the EP placed second in the K-pop albums category.
The music video for “BORN DIRE” surpassed 10 million views on YouTube following its release. It also reached No. 11 on iTunes’ worldwide trending music video chart and No. 3 on the corresponding Japanese chart.
Released on Aug. 24, “UNBREAKABLE : 少年BEAST” addresses the experiences of young people confronting prejudice and labels imposed by others. Its title track uses an intense sound and rapid progression to convey the group’s determination to continue moving forward.
ALPHA DRIVE ONE is an eight-member group formed through Mnet’s audition program “Boys II Planet.” The group officially debuted on Jan. 12 with its first EP, “EUPHORIA.”
The group is scheduled to perform “BORN DIRE” and the B-side “Diamond Hour” on Mnet’s “M Countdown” on Aug. 27.
