K-pop group TWS is drawing attention for its fresh approach to music packaging and concept, targeting Generation Z sensibilities while invoking nostalgia among older listeners. The group is set to release their third mini album TRY WITH US on April 21 at 6 PM KST, with pre-orders launched on March 24.
As part of the album's concept, TWS revealed a bold design choice by mimicking a photo roll film container for the album packaging. Notably, the group is using an 8cm mini CD format—a physical medium once popular in the 1990s in countries like the United States and the United Kingdom. This rare and collectible format appeals to both older fans' memories and younger audiences' love for retro-inspired aesthetics.
The album package includes a variety of limited-edition collectibles. Buyers will receive instant photos, a photo stand, a main photobook, sticker packs, a mini photobook, and multiple versions of photocards. Each element is carefully crafted to reflect the theme of capturing fleeting, youthful moments.
Pledis Entertainment, the group’s agency, explained that the overall concept was inspired by analog photography—a tool historically used to capture life’s special moments. This thematic choice ties closely with the emotional core of the album.
TWS’s fanbase, known as 42, has shown heightened anticipation following the announcement. The agency encouraged fans to look forward to the album as “a diary of the group’s youth at its hottest peak—age 20.” The messaging reflects TWS’s drive to explore new experiences and create meaningful narratives together with their listeners.
Musically, TRY WITH US carries the theme of shared discovery. It encapsulates the boldness of early adulthood and the desire to try things never done before. This resonant theme positions TWS as a voice for the current generation coming of age.
On March 27 at 10 PM KST, TWS will release the official album trailer via the HYBE Labels YouTube channel, further building momentum for the group’s upcoming comeback.
