Korean Visual artist Tzusoo holds a solo exhibition, 'Alma Redemptoris Mater: Our Material Our Redeemer' in Seoul.
Tzusoo is one of the young artists leading Korea's visual arts culture, and she made a music video for 'Feeling Of You', the title track of Yong-pil Cho's album, 'Road to 20-Pride 2', which drew attention with her unique style.
After graduating from Hongik University College of Fine Arts, She obtained a master's degree in Germany and built her unique world of work by moving back and forth between various genres such as video, installation, sculpture, and painting.
With her experimental yet trendy work style, the artist delivers stories of life and materiality through the exhibition. Starting with 'Schrödinger's Baby (2019)', a video clip of a baby in a virtual world, she has made childbirth and pregnancy her work material.
Through 'Agarmon' a series of new paintings and installations, she emphasizes the relationship between the sexual desire of women, which is considered profane in Christian history, and the acceptable relationship of sexual childbirth. 'Agarmon' is the name of a monster born in the moment of orgasm, and the artist blurs the boundaries between digital and real-life by bringing the being born in the digital world into the real world through this.
The exhibition will be held until Jan. 28 at Sangheet, located in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
