The Eternal Return Global Showmatch, hosted by the Busan Metropolitan Government (Mayor Park Hyung Joon) and co-organized by the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency (Director Kim Tae Yeol) and Loud Corporation, will take place on December 21 and 22 at the Busan Esports Arena (Brena). This marks the first offline official tournament for Eternal Return, featuring eight domestic teams from the National League and four invited teams from New York, Osaka, Hangzhou, and Taipei.
The two-day competition kicks off on December 21 with an eight-team bracket system, where the 5th to 8th place teams from the National League (Daejeon Cybers, Gwangju Slashers, Always Incheon, and Daejeon Hana CNJ) will face the four global invited teams in a six-round, points-based format. The top four teams will advance to December 22 to join the 1st to 4th place National League teams (Gyeonggi Innate, Mirae N Sejong, Seongnam Rocks, and BNK FierceX) in a 55-point checkpoint competition to determine the ultimate champion.
Among the domestic teams, Gyeonggi Innate, known for their dramatic victory from last place in the first round to winning the National League, will once again face fierce rivals Mirae N Sejong and Seongnam Rocks. The debut performance of the global invited teams and the home-ground advantage for Busan’s own BNK FierceX add further intrigue to the competition.
As a prelude to the tournament, the Korea Creative Content Agency will host a Game Culture for Everyone event on December 20. This includes a game OST concert performed by the Layers Classic band, a fan signing session with pro gamers and influencers, and an influencer event match, in collaboration with Eternal Return.
During the tournament, attendees can enjoy various activities such as a year-end raffle, Eternal Return play events, and an NPC café. An official merchandise shop will also be available, enhancing the experience for visitors.
Kim Tae Yeol, Director of the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency, expressed his excitement, stating, “It is significant to host the first offline event involving global teams for Eternal Return, one of Korea’s leading esports titles. Brena will continue supporting the growth of domestic esports titles on the global stage.”
Tickets for the event went on sale on December 16 at 3 PM through Interpark Ticket. Limited paid seating in Zone B (146 seats) is available, and ticket holders will receive special items, including Eternal Return pin buttons and posters. Free seating in Zone A (146 seats) is available on a first-come, first-served basis, with safety measures in place to limit additional admissions if necessary.
Further details about the tournament and ticketing can be found on the official Brena and Eternal Return websites.
