Japanese contemporary artist Masato Yamaguchi's solo exhibition, 'Cinematic: 1.0x,' will be held at SH Gallery in Seoul from August 29 to September 21.
Born in the 1980s, Yamaguchi began his artistic journey under the strong influence of 1990s Tokyo's music, fashion, and design scenes.
His work centers around the theme of 'trans-reality,' posing questions about the essence of reality.
Yamaguchi is particularly known for using cool and cute selfie characters to explore how self-images in modern society are increasingly becoming illusions.
In this exhibition, he will showcase works from the 'Cinematic' series, utilizing stencil and airbrush techniques that he has employed since the beginning of his career.
An opening reception with the artist will take place on August 29 from 5 PM to 7 PM, drawing significant interest from art collectors.
Meanwhile, Yamaguchi has gained public attention for his creative collaborations with emerging Japanese fashion brands like X-girl and ReZARD, further establishing his unique presence.
