Soyeon of (G)I-dle has openly expressed her dissatisfaction with Cube Entertainment, the agency representing her, in a recent statement. On Tuesday, she conveyed her disappointment, which she described as "again," regarding the management company's handling of her career.
The tension between Soyeon and Cube Entertainment came into the spotlight following her solo performance during (G)I-dle's concert in Seoul last week. During her solo segment, Soyeon's track “Is this bad b****** number?” featured rap lyrics that appeared to reference her discontent with the agency. The lyrics hinted at her contract expiring in November, her reluctance to be subservient, and her assertion of independence.
In response to the situation, Cube Entertainment claimed that Soyeon had not discussed the performance or its content with the agency prior to her concert. However, Soyeon countered these claims on social media, asserting that she had openly performed the song, including during rehearsals, without attempting to keep it a secret.
This controversy emerges as (G)I-dle embarks on their "Idol" tour, which started in Seoul and is set to visit five cities in Asia, six in North America, and two in Australia by November 12.
