Local brand joins Gongju’s Gomatsnaru and Cheongyang’s Chilgapmaru at direct-sales event

Buyeo County participated in a regional agricultural products market held on Sept. 2 outside the National Assembly Communication Hall in Seoul.

The event was organised by the Chungnam-Sejong headquarters of NongHyup and the office of National Assembly member Yoon Yong-geun. It featured agricultural and specialty products from Gongju, Buyeo and Cheongyang in South Chungcheong Province.

Buyeo presented products sold under Goodtrae, its collective brand for locally produced agricultural goods. Sales, promotional displays and food-tasting activities were offered to visitors.

Goodtrae is administered by the county, which grants participating producer organisations permission to use the brand. The program is intended to provide a shared identity for agricultural products originating in Buyeo.

The market also featured Gongju’s Gomatsnaru and Cheongyang’s Chilgapmaru brands. The three local governments used the event to introduce their products and seek additional distribution opportunities in the Seoul metropolitan area.

Yoon attended the event alongside Gongju Mayor Choi Won-cheol, Buyeo County Governor Lee Yong-woo, Cheongyang County Governor Kim Hong-yeol and representatives of NongHyup.

Buyeo County said it plans to continue participating in direct-sales and promotional events in major cities to expand sales channels for Goodtrae products.
