SEOUL — BLACKPINK’s latest digital single “Jump” has reached the top of the iTunes charts in 47 countries following its release on Friday, YG Entertainment announced Saturday.
The track marks the globally acclaimed K-pop group’s first official release in nearly three years since their 2022 full-length album Born Pink, excluding their 2023 track “The Girls,” which was featured on the soundtrack for their mobile video game.
“Jump” signals a sonic shift for the group, showcasing a new musical direction that diverges from their signature charismatic style. The song blends Western-inspired guitar riffs with BLACKPINK’s distinct vocals, creating an addictive chorus that aims to captivate both longtime fans and new listeners, according to YG Entertainment.
The single was produced by longtime BLACKPINK collaborators Teddy and 24, with contributions from a team of international lyricists and composers. Its accompanying music video was directed by award-winning filmmaker Dave Meyers, known for his work with major global artists.
BLACKPINK debuted “Jump” live during the opening night of their Deadline world tour at Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium in Goyang, just outside of Seoul, last weekend.
The tour is set to continue across 15 additional cities, including major stops in Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, Paris, Milan, London, and Bangkok.
