A grand retrospective of Shoji Ueda, the Japanese photography master who devoted his life to the joy of photography, is now on display at Piknic Seoul.
A representative figure in 20th-century Japanese photography, Ueda captured the essence of his time with an unrestrained and free-spirited perspective.
Unaffected by trends, he established a unique style that has come to be known in the West as "Ueda-cho," a term coined to describe his distinct aesthetic.
This exhibition features a comprehensive showcase of Ueda’s work, from his early masterpieces to a broad array of pieces spanning his entire career.
Shoji Ueda: Theatre of the Dunes will run until March 2, 2025, offering a deeply moving experience for all visitors.
