Richard Misrach, an American photographer, is hosting his first solo exhibition in Asia at the Pace Gallery in Seoul.

The artist has captured the dynamic landscape of the western United States from an environmental and political perspective for more than 50 years after majoring in psychology at the University of Berkeley.

In addition, he has researched the destructive influence of humans on nature through large-scale clear and contemplative works and has included them in his works.

His major work includes fires in the western desert of the United States, nuclear testing sites, animal body landfills, San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge, and landscapes on the U.S.-Mexico border.

In the exhibition, the artist presents new works produced during the pandemic and his signature series of works created between the early 1990s and 2019.

In the exhibition, 'Outdoor Dining, Bonneville Salt Flat (1992)', which contains a surreal landscape drawn by a table and chair in the middle of a vast salt desert, and 'Cloud, Roden Crater (2016)', which explores the accidental harmony of light and color in the sky during sunset time, will be displayed.

In addition, a series of his masterpieces 'On the Beach', consisting of scenes from the same point of view for about 20 years, will also be displayed on the balcony of a hotel in Hawaii.

Through the exhibition, visitors will think about the relationship the artist thinks the individual interacts with and establishes with nature.

The exhibition will be held from May 11 to June 15 at the Pace Gallery in Itaewon, and a meeting with artists will be held on the 7th.
