▲ Bang&Jung&Yoo&Moon ⓒ MA EntertainmentK-pop boy group B.A.P, which originally debuted as a six-member band in 2012, is set to make a highly anticipated comeback as a quartet. The group now consists of Bang Yong-guk, Jung Dae-hyun, Yoo Young-jae, and Moon Jong-up. Their return to the K-pop scene comes after more than six years, with a new single slated for release in August under the name Bang&Jung&Yoo&Moon, according to their agency, MA Entertainment.

The quartet has been giving fans a glimpse of their preparations through a documentary series titled “Man on the Moon,” available on YouTube. This series showcases their journey and the efforts they have put into their upcoming comeback.

B.A.P made a powerful debut in 2012 with their single “Warrior,” quickly gaining recognition for their intense choreography and impactful music. Their rapid rise led to their first world tour, “Live on Earth,” within a year of debuting. Their global fanbase grew swiftly, and the group garnered numerous awards, including Best Korean Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards in both 2013 and 2014, and Germany’s Remarkable Award in 2012. Notably, their performance at the K-pop World Festival in 2012 was highlighted on the Grammy website as part of the "Best of 2012."

Despite their initial success, B.A.P's journey has been tumultuous. In November 2014, the group halted activities and filed a lawsuit against their then-agency, TS Entertainment, citing unfair profit distribution. After a reconciliation, they released their eighth single, “Ego,” in 2017, but struggled to regain their former popularity. Ultimately, B.A.P disbanded in February 2019 after failing to renew their contracts with the agency.

Zelo, the youngest member, departed from the group in December 2018 and is currently fulfilling his mandatory military service. Himchan was expelled from the group following legal issues, including a 10-month prison sentence in July 2018 for sexual assault and a subsequent three-year prison sentence with five years of probation in May 2022 for groping a woman.

The return of B.A.P as Bang&Jung&Yoo&Moon marks a new chapter for the group. Fans are eagerly awaiting their new single and looking forward to seeing how the quartet will redefine their legacy in the K-pop industry.
