CORTIS has added another milestone to its fast-rising career.
BIGHIT MUSIC said on July 14 that CORTIS’ “REDRED” had set a new record for the most No. 1 appearances by a single K-pop group song on Spotify Korea’s Daily Top Songs Korea chart. The title track from the group’s second EP GREENGREEN returned to No. 1 on the July 12 chart, marking its 70th time at the top since release.
“REDRED” first reached No. 1 on Spotify Korea’s Daily Top Songs Korea chart on April 27. The track recorded its 50th No. 1 on June 20 and has continued its chart momentum, eventually setting a new benchmark for K-pop groups.
The achievement is notable because CORTIS is still less than a year into its career. The group, formed by BIGHIT MUSIC, consists of MARTIN, JAMES, JUHOON, SEONGHYEON and KEONHO. Its official profile introduces CORTIS as BIGHIT MUSIC’s first new boy group in six years after BTS and TOMORROW X TOGETHER.
The group has also shown strength on Spotify Korea’s Weekly Top Songs Korea chart. According to reports, “REDRED” spent 11 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the weekly chart, setting another record for the longest run by a K-pop group song.
CORTIS’ rapid growth has been driven by streaming power as well as the group’s image as a new-generation “creator crew.” The members have been presented as artists who take part in music, performance and visual production from the early stage of their career, a positioning that differentiates them from more conventional idol groups.
The group’s streaming numbers also point to its expanding audience. Reports say CORTIS has surpassed 900 million cumulative streams on Spotify with 13 released tracks within 10 months of debut, a striking figure for a rookie act.
“REDRED” has become more than a hit single. Its sustained No. 1 run on Korea’s largest global streaming platform signals how quickly new K-pop acts can build domestic chart authority while also preparing for global expansion.
For BIGHIT MUSIC, CORTIS represents a new chapter after BTS and TOMORROW X TOGETHER. For the wider K-pop industry, the group’s rise shows how streaming charts are becoming one of the clearest measures of rookie impact.
