Smilegate Hope Studio (Chairman Kwon Hyuk-bin) has partnered with Baida Games to launch a charity campaign aimed at supporting children with rare diseases. The campaign, titled “Super Speedrun Marathon for the Dreams of Children”, will run from today until January 26. The initiative seeks to raise funds for the treatment of children battling rare diseases, while also expanding opportunities for gamers to engage in social contribution activities.
The Super Speedrun Marathon, organized by Baida Games, will generate donations through the support of viewers who watch the event. All the funds raised will be donated to Make-A-Wish Korea, an organization dedicated to fulfilling the wishes of children with critical illnesses. The donations will be used to provide psychological and emotional support services to these children and their families.
In the Super Speedrun Marathon, gamers will compete to complete game missions as quickly as possible, showcasing their skills while contributing to a noble cause. The event will take place from January 23 to 26 at All That Mind, a cultural complex located in Munrae-dong, Seoul. It will be broadcast live on YouTube and Chijijik, allowing a wide audience to participate virtually.
Kwon Yeon-joo, Executive Director of Smilegate Hope Studio, emphasized the importance of connecting donation broadcasts with gamer participation. "This campaign is designed to resonate with a wide audience by integrating donation streams with gamer involvement. Going forward, Smilegate Hope Studio will continue to play an active role as a platform that helps gamers participate in solving social issues in an engaging and meaningful way," she said.
With this campaign, Smilegate Hope Studio aims to bridge the world of gaming and philanthropy, offering gamers an opportunity to contribute to a greater cause while enjoying their passion. The initiative underscores the growing role of online communities in supporting charitable causes and providing vital services to those in need.
