Chocolate carvings and digital drawings explore inner psychology through contrasting materials

The exhibition brings together two distinct artistic media to examine emotion and inner psychology. Individual interpretations of the works are expected to develop through each visitor's viewing experience.

Artist Ahn Hyunju is presenting a solo exhibition centered on chocolate sculpture and digital drawing at EOS Gallery in Incheon.

On July 22, SayArt confirmed that Theme Thanatos & Donguri is on view from July 20 through July 25 at EOS Gallery in Gyeyang-gu, Incheon. The exhibition is open from 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with Sundays closed. Admission is free and no reservation is required.

The exhibition consists of two bodies of work. Theme Thanatos features sculptures carved directly from blocks of chocolate. Using the material's fragile physical properties, the series explores themes of the subconscious and emotional experience.

Displayed alongside it is Donguri, a series of digital drawings. Through restrained compositions and color, the works present emotional states and psychological tension. Together, the two series create a dialogue between contrasting materials and artistic approaches.

Ahn Hyunju is currently based in Melbourne, Australia. She is a registered artist on the global art platform Singulart and has presented her work through international publications and overseas exhibitions. Her work has also been exhibited at The Holy Art Gallery in Tokyo and New York.

The exhibition focuses on the idea of psychological ambivalence and fragmented identity. Chocolate sculpture and digital drawing are presented together to explore different visual approaches to the human interior.

The exhibition continues through July 25. Audience reception and the exhibition's overall impact are expected to be assessed after the exhibition concludes.
