Iacurci is an Italian artist who draws global attention by drawing public art on the outer walls of major buildings in major cities around the world, including Milan, Rome, LA, Toronto, and Las Vegas. He creates his creative activities by depicting natural objects on the artificial background of the city to capture the story of nature.
He often draws inspiration from stories in certain places, collecting local culture and history and combining those elements into his work to produce the space and organic creations where the work is placed, and gaining sympathy and support from many people.
The artist's works are given by flat, geometric murals and installations. The audience can get a new perspective by grasping the organic relationship between his works and his surroundings. In particular, he has various collaborations with world-famous brands such as Apple, Adidas, Hermes, and Starbucks.
His solo exhibition, which will be held for the first time in Asia, will feature works on the theme of Traditional Korean House and plants. "I got a hint from Dancheong, a traditional Korean color technique," he said, revealing that he applied Korean art culture in the creative process.
Meanwhile, the exhibition is planned as a residency program that provides artists with living, exhibition spaces, and studios for a certain period. The artist will continue to create works during the exhibition.
The exhibition will be held until Jan. 27 next year at Artivist at Mat, located in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and admission is free.
