Actress Lee Si Young is in the process of divorcing her husband, Cho Seung Hyun, after eight years of marriage.
On the 17th, Ace Factory, Lee’s agency, released an official statement confirming the separation. "Lee Si Young and Cho Seung Hyun have mutually agreed to part ways and are currently undergoing divorce proceedings," the agency stated.
Lee filed a divorce mediation request with the Seoul Family Court earlier this year, and the couple is reportedly finalizing details regarding their separation.
Lee Si Young married Cho Seung Hyun, a restaurant entrepreneur nine years her senior, in 2017. Cho gained recognition for his successful venture, Yeongcheon Yeonghwa, and was often referred to as the “Little Baek Jong Won” due to his influence in the food industry.
The couple welcomed their son in January 2018, just four months after their wedding. Lee has occasionally shared glimpses of her married life through variety shows. However, after eight years together, they have now chosen to go their separate ways.
Lee Si Young made her acting debut in 2008 through the OCN drama "Urban Legends Deja Vu" (도시괴담 데자뷰) Season 3. She later gained wider recognition through the KBS 2TV drama "Boys Over Flowers" (꽃보다 남자).
More recently, she has received praise for her Netflix series performances, particularly for her role as Seo Yi Kyung, a former special forces soldier, in "Sweet Home." Her dynamic action sequences and intense character portrayal in the series have solidified her reputation as a versatile actress.
Despite her personal challenges, Lee Si Young remains an active presence in the entertainment industry, and many are anticipating her next career move following this significant life transition.
