Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon proved her immense popularity in Taiwan by successfully holding her solo concert at Taipei Dome on March 16.
With this event, Taeyeon became the first overseas artist to perform at Taipei Dome, following Jay Chou and Chang Hui Mei (A-Mei)—two of the most prominent artists in the Chinese-speaking world. Her entry into the venue marks a significant milestone in her solo career, solidifying her status as a top-tier global artist.
The concert, part of her ongoing “TAEYEON CONCERT - The TENSE” tour, was a complete sell-out, including restricted-view seats, drawing approximately 35,000 attendees. The overwhelming demand for tickets once again underscored Taeyeon’s powerful influence as a solo artist.
Celebrating her 10th anniversary as a soloist, Taeyeon curated a setlist that showcased her decade-long career. She performed her latest hit, "Fabulous," alongside fan-favorite songs such as "I," "Why," "Four Seasons," "Weekend," and "INVU." Her stable and emotive vocals were on full display, captivating the audience with performances of "Stress," "Baram X 3," "Disaster," "Curtain Call," and "U R."
The energy from the crowd was exceptional throughout the night. Fans held up banners reading, "We will always be here to protect you," and even after the concert ended, they continued chanting Taeyeon’s name, hoping for an encore.
In response to the overwhelming support, Taeyeon personally approached her fans by riding in a moving vehicle closer to the audience, expressing her gratitude. "Thank you so much for always waiting for me and cheering me on, allowing me to perform in Taiwan every time," she said.
She continued, "I feel incredibly happy to meet you all, and I sincerely appreciate you filling up such a large venue. It’s always special to share this moment in one space."
Taeyeon’s tour will continue, with her next stop in Manila, Philippines, on March 29, as she brings "TAEYEON CONCERT - The TENSE" to even more fans across Asia.
