Korean American rapper San E has been booked by police on charges of assault following an incident in a park in Seoul last month, officials confirmed on Monday. The 39-year-old artist, whose real name is Jung San, is alleged to have used his mobile phone to strike a passerby on July 28 at the entrance of a park in Seoul's Mapo district.
The confrontation reportedly began when San E instructed the passerby to properly place a bicycle. The altercation escalated, leading to accusations of violence. Authorities are investigating the incident as a possible two-way assault and have also booked the pedestrian on similar charges.
The passerby has reportedly sustained a cut around the eye and damage to their teeth. However, discrepancies in the accounts provided by both parties have complicated the investigation. Police are working to clarify the details of the assault and the extent of the injuries through further examination.
Additionally, San E's father has also been booked for his involvement in the incident. The police are continuing their investigation to ascertain the precise circumstances surrounding the altercation.
