American artist Sterling Ruby, a leading figure in contemporary art, will hold a solo exhibition at Shinsegae Gallery Cheongdam from September 5 to November 30.
Sterling Ruby is renowned for his works that challenge societal biases by bridging traditional and contemporary styles using various materials and techniques.
The exhibition, titled ‘The Flower Cutter Rests on Dust Covered Steps,’ will feature over 40 pieces, allowing viewers to experience the primal forces that drive the Earth as a single narrative.
The display will offer insights into the artist's world, including works that symbolize life and death through the depiction of tombs and pieces inspired by American anti-war protests.
Notably, the exhibition will include the ‘TURBINE’ series, which features vibrant color backgrounds and collaged elements stacked like stairs to symbolize eternal struggle.
Additionally, during the exhibition period, Ruby’s fashion label and accessory collection will be unveiled for the first time in Korea on the ground floor of Boon the Shop Cheongdam.
