BTS member Jung Kook continues to make K-pop history with his solo debut single “Seven (feat. Latto)”, more than two years after its release.
According to Billboard data cited by Korean media, “Seven” ranked No. 153 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart dated July 11. The song has now spent 155 weeks on the chart, marking the longest run for a song by an Asian solo artist.
The record highlights the unusual durability of “Seven,” which was released in July 2023 as Jung Kook’s first official solo single. The song previously spent nine consecutive weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Global Excl. U.S. chart and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, where it remained for 15 weeks.
Jung Kook’s chart presence also remains strong in Korea-facing global rankings. On Billboard Korea’s Global K-Songs chart dated July 11, “Seven” ranked No. 21, while his other solo tracks “Standing Next to You” and “3D” also continued to appear on the chart.
The song’s streaming performance has been equally notable. On Spotify, “Seven” has remained on the platform’s Weekly Top Songs Global chart for 156 weeks, the longest chart run for a song by an Asian solo artist, according to reports. It also surpassed 3 billion streams on Spotify, becoming the first song by a Korean artist to reach the milestone.
“Seven” has become more than a successful solo debut. Its long-running presence across Billboard and Spotify shows how a K-pop solo track can move beyond initial fandom-driven momentum and become a sustained global streaming hit.
For Jung Kook, the achievement further strengthens his position as one of the most commercially powerful solo artists to emerge from BTS. For K-pop, it marks another sign that Korean pop music’s global reach is no longer limited to group activity, but increasingly extends to individual artists with lasting international appeal.
