K-pop group CLOSE YOUR EYES will release “Open Your Eyes,” a track from its fourth EP “256th Note,” on streaming platforms at 6 p.m. on Sept. 18.
The song combines the open structure and improvisational character of jazz with elements of hip-hop and R&B. A piano arpeggio loop and rapid drum rhythm form its foundation, with pianist Yohan Kim and jazz saxophonist Jacob Scesney contributing instrumental performances.
Members Jeon Min Wook and Kenshin participated in writing the lyrics.
“Open Your Eyes” serves as the opening track of “256th Note,” which will be released in full at 6 p.m. on Sept. 30. The album title is derived from the 256th note, one of the shortest note values used in musical notation, and refers to recording emotions that pass in brief moments.
CLOSE YOUR EYES will also hold an online and offline comeback event at 8 p.m. on the album’s release date.
