Italian lighting manufacturer Flos is marking the 10th anniversary of Philippe Starck's popular Bon Jour Unplugged lamp with a significant update that brings new technology features and expanded design options to the cordless rechargeable lighting fixture. Originally launched in 2015, the lamp has become a signature piece in Flos's collection, combining Starck's distinctive aesthetic with portable functionality.
The updated anniversary edition introduces several technological improvements that address limitations of the original model. Users can now adjust the color temperature of the LED lights, choosing anywhere from a warm 2200K to a cooler 3000K setting to match their preferred ambiance or lighting needs. The dimming system has also been refined with more precise control options, offering settings at 3%, 30%, 70%, and 100% brightness levels.
In addition to the enhanced lighting controls, Flos has modernized the charging capabilities of the Bon Jour Unplugged. While the original model relied solely on traditional charging methods, the new version features both wireless charging technology and USB-C charging options, providing users with greater convenience and flexibility in how they power their lamp.
The company has also made changes to the lamp's design offerings and standard configuration. Previously, customers could purchase the lamp without a shade, creating a minimalist "Starckian barbell" appearance, but the transparent shade now comes as standard equipment with every purchase. However, buyers still have extensive customization options, with the ability to choose from different colored transparent shades or opt for fabric or rattan shade alternatives to match their interior design preferences.

The updated Bon Jour Unplugged lamp retails for $330 and represents Flos's commitment to evolving iconic designs with contemporary technology while maintaining the original vision that made them successful.
