The Korea Indie Game Association has officially begun accepting submissions for Indie Arcade, an exclusive indie game exhibition at PlayX4. The application period runs from today, February 17, until March 3.
PlayX4, the largest gaming exhibition in the Seoul metropolitan area, is hosted by Gyeonggi Province and organized by the Gyeonggi Content Agency and KINTEX. Indie Arcade, one of the exhibition’s most anticipated sections, has been curated by the Korea Indie Game Association since 2018 in collaboration with the PlayX4 Secretariat. It has since become a premier platform for independent game developers, attracting a growing number of indie studios and individual creators eager to showcase their work.
The Indie Arcade program is open to indie game developers, whether they operate as a company, team, or individual creator. Eligible participants must have a playable build of their game, regardless of platform. Selected titles will receive extensive support, including booth space, essential exhibition equipment, promotional opportunities, and press exposure. Additionally, networking sessions with potential publishers will be facilitated to help developers connect with industry professionals.
Beyond game showcases, Indie Arcade will offer new interactive experiences for visitors. In collaboration with MBC Academy Computer Institute, special events will be held to educate aspiring game developers and students interested in pursuing careers in the gaming industry. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in career guidance programs and hands-on learning experiences, enhancing the exhibition’s role as a hub for industry growth.
The 2025 PlayX4 exhibition is scheduled to take place from May 22 to May 25 at KINTEX Exhibition Center 1, utilizing Halls 3, 4, and 5. During this four-day event, Indie Arcade will feature a diverse range of indie games, allowing visitors to test new titles and engage with developers through various on-site activities.
As Indie Arcade continues to solidify its position as a vital showcase for emerging game developers, expectations are high for the range of innovative projects set to be revealed this year. The Korea Indie Game Association encourages interested developers to apply early and take advantage of the opportunities offered.
Further details regarding submission guidelines and requirements can be found on the official Indieple community, operated by the Korea Indie Game Association.
