The Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles, under the direction of Hae-don Lee, successfully organized a comprehensive Korean culture experience event to commemorate the 579th anniversary of Hangul Day. The three-day celebration, which took place from October 6 to 8, brought together multiple prestigious institutions in a collaborative effort to promote Korean language and cultural heritage.

The event was made possible through partnerships with several prominent organizations, including the King Sejong Institute Center, U.S.A., the USC Korean Studies Institute, the USC Korean Language Program, and the Korean Heritage Library. This collaboration demonstrated the strong network of Korean cultural and educational institutions operating in the Los Angeles area.

Participants had the opportunity to engage in a diverse range of hands-on cultural activities designed to provide an immersive experience in Korean traditions. The programming included interactive name badge making sessions, where attendees could create personalized items featuring Korean characters. Additionally, visitors could craft consonant and vowel bracelets, providing a tactile way to learn about the fundamental components of the Korean writing system.

The event also featured traditional Korean clothing experiences, allowing participants to try on and learn about hanbok and other traditional garments. Food experiences were another highlight of the celebration, giving attendees the chance to sample authentic Korean cuisine and understand its cultural significance. Perhaps most notably, Hangul calligraphy sessions provided participants with the opportunity to practice the art of Korean writing using traditional brushes and techniques.

The response from the community was overwhelming, with approximately 400 people attending the three-day event. The diverse group of participants included students from the King Sejong Institute, faculty and students from USC, and local residents from the broader Los Angeles community. Organizers noted that attendees displayed remarkable interest and enthusiasm throughout all the activities, demonstrating the growing appreciation for Korean culture in Southern California.
