Sungmin, a member of the popular K-pop boy band Super Junior, is set to make his debut as a trot artist with the release of his single "Lovesick" on May 10. The new single will be part of a two-song mini-album that also includes the title track "Aeri."

Trot is a traditional Korean musical genre known for its distinctive use of repetitive rhythms and vocal inflections. While Sungmin has already established himself as a solo artist with successful releases like "Orgel," "Goodnight, Summer," and "Day Dream," his foray into trot music represents a new direction for the artist.

"Lovesick" is a Latin dance track that features a mix of brass instruments, electric guitars, congas, and other percussion instruments. The lyrics, which center around the theme of love, are delivered with a witty touch and a memorable chorus that may appeal to both older and younger listeners.

Sungmin's interest in trot music was sparked by his appearance on TV Chosun's Mr. Trot Season 2, where he received rave reviews for his performance. The positive feedback encouraged Sungmin to pursue a professional career in trot music and he is now excited to showcase his skills in this unique musical genre.

With his latest release, Sungmin is looking to redefine himself as an artist and venture into new musical territory. The mini-album is expected to receive a warm reception from fans and listeners worldwide, as Sungmin continues to make his mark in the ever-evolving K-pop industry.
