Q.Today is the first day of Kiaf PLUS. This is Gallery Choi's booth. The Choi Gallery booth is one of the largest exhibition spaces of KIAF Plus. Yes, this is Director Kim Mi-kyung. Please say hello.
Please explain the plan of this booth.
-This art fair is an international event. We also set up a booth with competitive works. First, the lineup of young artists and modern works. They are artists who have been with us for a long time. Since they are popular artists,
I think collectors will be satisfied. In other words, the lineup is made up of internationally competitive artists.
Q.What did you pay special attention to?
-I paid more attention to the artistry. Avoid too commercial or decorative works. I tried to display it with artistic paintings.
We selected works by creative authors.
Q. Last question. Can you tell me about Gallery Choi?
- Gallery Choi is located in Hapjeong-dong, Seoul. We have been exhibiting for about 7 years, and we have mainly focused on abstract and non-figurative artists. In addition, Koreans have difficulties with abstract and non-figurative concepts, so we are trying to introduce works that are easier to understand to the audience.

Director Mi-Kyung Kim worked as an admissions consultant for art students for domestic and overseas entrance examinations for 13 years. For more than 10 years, she has blogged critiques of modern art artists as a hobby and has run a separate commercial gallery.
She is currently the director of Art Space, an exhibition hall operated under the motto “Art can change our lives” in Pangyo Techno Valley. This is an art platform that not only develops art apps but also attempts to converge digital and art. In other words, this is a place for artist incubation for young Korean artists.
GALLERY CHOI introduces artists who seek aesthetically higher degree of completion in art-historical context. The artists vary from established ones who practice their arts with an authentic artistic language, to young and emerging ones who emit their unique identities derived from different perspective of new generation in Korean and abroad. Also, GALLERY CHOI will put effort into cooperating with other galleries and art institutions in China, Europe and America to act as a gateway for Korean artists to be promoted abroad, and to introduce foreign artists who has different uniqueness and fresh perspective from Korean art world. GALLERY CHOI will become a gallery that continuously keeps international mindset toward art, and contribute to extend the perimeter of Korean art market in international art world.
