Ella Kruglyanskaya, A Painter from Latvia holds her solo exhibition 'The Best Arrangement' at Gallery Jason Haam in Seoul, South Korea.

 

Ella is an artist who draws paintings based on female figures with her unique personality and style. Through her work, she explores social expectations for women and projects her experiences.

The characters depicted in the artist's work are depicted much larger than real people, emphasizing an overwhelming presence rather than erotic. Through this mode of expression, she raises controversy over the representation of women that has been shown in the history of visual art.

The artist said, "I can't run away from it because the male gaze has always existed in art history," and added, "I interact with and resist that gaze. It is possible to enjoy this gaze and feel resentment for being objectified," she explained about her creative values.

She reflects her willingness not to settle down in her present state with her still-life paintings and brushstrokes superimposed on figures. The artist uses a bold over-painting method to reveal that the creative process also seeks the need for self-criticism and the expansion of the world of work.

Meanwhile, Gallery Jason Haam, where the exhibition will take place, is located in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, as a gallery that introduces unique artists and works from home and abroad. The exhibition will be held at the gallery until the coming 18th.
