Dayoung of WJSN has marked the first anniversary of her solo debut.

She launched her solo career on Sept. 9, 2025, with the digital single “gonna love me, right?” Its lead track, “body,” earned Dayoung her first solo music show win on SBS funE’s “The Show.”

“body” was subsequently included in year-end lists of the best K-pop songs of 2025 published by Billboard and British music magazine NME.

Dayoung released her second digital single, “What’s a girl to do,” in April. The release contains the title track and “Priceless (kaching kaching).” She contributed to the lyrics and composition of both songs and participated in the project’s planning and production.

In August, she issued “FLIRTY” with Jay Park. The track marked her first collaborative single and provided another extension of her work outside WJSN.

Dayoung also received the Bonsang and Best Solo awards at the 35th Seoul Music Awards in June.

In a statement released through Starship Entertainment on Sept. 9, Dayoung said the past year had been both busy and rewarding. She thanked WJSN’s fan community, Ujung, and listeners who had supported her solo music.

She added that she plans to continue developing new music and performing on a wider range of stages.
