French designer Pierre Paulin's inaugural solo exhibition in Seoul, titled "Starring-Pierre Paulin," has opened its doors at Artist Company in southern Seoul, marking a significant collaboration with Korean actor Lee Jung-jae. Lee played a pivotal role in curating the exhibition, selecting Paulin's iconic furniture designs known for their curved and sleek aesthetics.

The exhibition, which commenced on May 9, explores the cinematic influence on Paulin's innovative furniture pieces, which have graced screens since the 1960s. Initially aspiring to be a sculptor, Paulin transitioned to design and continually evolved his style from the 1950s to the 1990s.

Featured prominently are Paulin's celebrated creations such as the "Tongue Chair," "Spider Chair," "Table Cathedrale," and “Face a Face,” each embodying his distinctive artistic vision.

Additionally, the exhibition aims to create synergy between Paulin and emerging Korean painter Lee Hee-joon, whose geometric paintings complement Paulin's furniture pieces. Lee's artworks, inspired by global travels and architectural elements, enrich the exhibition's narrative.

Organized by Paulin, Paulin, Paulin, a family-owned brand established in 1927, in collaboration with Artue, an online art platform, the exhibition seeks to introduce rare Paulin pieces to Korean collectors and art enthusiasts.

Running until September 8 at Artist Company in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, the exhibition spans both the underground space and the first floor, inviting visitors to delve into the timeless creativity of Pierre Paulin amidst a cinematic backdrop.
