The production company of the play "Wife" has announced plans to reinforce its no-recording policy in response to an alleged incident involving a male audience member. The individual is accused of specifically filming Girls' Generation member Sooyoung, who plays the character Daisy, during a scene where she was changing clothes on stage.

The play "Wife," written by Samuel Adamson, explores shifting attitudes toward women and LGBTQ identity across four time periods from 1959 to 2046.

According to reports on the online forum dcinsde, the male audience member, purportedly a fan of Sooyoung, was observed taking multiple photos with his camera during the scene in question. The incident has raised concerns among other audience members who were also disturbed by the alleged illegal filming.

An official from the organizer acknowledged the challenge of identifying such behavior, stating that the individual was filming in a blind spot. In response, the production company, Gleam Company, has decided to reinforce measures, including notifying the audience about the no-recording policy and publishing notifications for foreign attendees.

The official emphasized the company's commitment to taking stronger actions against illegal recording or uploading of footage for secondary processing, with continued monitoring of such matters.

The play "Wife" is currently running at the LG Art Center Seoul in Gangseo District, western Seoul, from Dec. 26 to Feb. 8. The production features well-known celebrities, including Girls' Generation's Choi Soo-young and actor Song Jae-rim.
