Actor Son Suk-ku, known for his role in "The Roundup: No Way Out" (2023), has made an unconventional move by establishing his own production company. This decision differs from the usual path taken by established actors who opt for management roles after parting ways with their agencies.

Son obtained a business license for his newly formed company, reportedly named Stannum Co., on January 2. The company's headquarters are located in Samseong-dong, central Seoul.

Last August, Son departed from his previous agency, SBD Entertainment, expressing his intention to take a break and focus on filming in December. Notably, the former chief financial officer of SBD Entertainment is now registered as the CEO of Son's new venture.

Reports suggest that Son's keen interest in media content, including movies and drama series, motivated him to establish the company. Throughout the past year, he has engaged with numerous writers and directors.

Having debuted on the silver screen in 2015 with the movie "Black Stone," Son gained prominence in Korea through leading roles in various television programs, such as JTBC’s “My Liberation Notes” (2022), Disney+'s “Casino” (2022), and Netflix’s “D.P. 2” (2023), along with the movie “The Roundup” (2022).

Currently, Son is set to appear as a detective in the upcoming Netflix original series titled “A Killer Paradox,” scheduled for release this Friday.
