Korean Rom-Com 'Love Reset' Gains Global Attention and Chinese Remake

Starring Kang Ha-neul and Jung So-min, the Film's International Release Expands

"Love Reset," a South Korean romantic comedy film featuring Kang Ha-neul and Jung So-min, premiered on October 3 and is now set for a Chinese remake, announced the film's distributor, MindMark.

The original rom-com, which follows the story of a married couple who lose all memories of each other and their married life following a car accident on the way to divorce proceedings, is gaining international traction. Its global release commenced in the United States on October 6, followed by openings in the Philippines on October 18, Indonesia on November 1, Thailand on November 9, and Vietnam on November 10.

In "Love Reset," the couple's family and friends resort to various tactics to encourage the couple to reunite, lying to them about their previously happy marriage. The film humorously portrays their efforts to rekindle their love and recover their lost memories.

Kang Ha-neul and Jung So-min take on the lead roles as the married couple, supported by actors Kim Sun-young, Yoon Kyung-ho, and Jo Min-su.

According to the Korea Film Council, the film achieved a significant milestone by surpassing the break-even point on Tuesday, having sold 1.6 million tickets.

Barunson E&A, responsible for the film's international distribution, has reported numerous requests for remakes from other countries as well.
